01.01.2012   We would like to extend an invitation to our Christianity Explored Course, which will be running on Tuesday evenings from 17th January.  The course begins at 7.30 and will include refreshements, a presentatation based on Mark's Gospel, and group discussions.  If you have questions about the Christain faith and how it might be relevant today, this is an opportunity to begin the search for answers.  This course is not restricted to those with previous associations with the church; everyone is welcome.

01.01.2012 There will be a Baptismal Service on Sunday 8th January, at 4pm in Finaghy Baptist.  Everyone is welcome

31.12.2011 A big thank you to all those who helped out at our Christmas events, including Light for Life which coincided with the switching on of the Christmas tree lights in Lisburn, and our annual Carol Service on 18th December.

              

05.11.2011 Next Saturday, 12th November, Newry Baptist will be hosting a seminar on the church's response to homosexuality.  Also next Saturday morning from 10 -12 our neighbours in Sloan Street Presbyterian are organising a charity coffee morning and craft fair, with proceeds in aid of Caleb House Romania and Hope for Justice.

29.10.2011  Thanks to David Davidson for organising this morning's Men's Breakfast, and to Nic Serb for his challanging talk on the role of men in the church.  Andy McDowall's Buster Breakfast should keep him going for a while.

12.09.2011  Care for the Family is running a conference with the intriguing title 'Getting your kids through church without them ending up hating God'.  The conference will be in Belfast on 3rd November and will feature speakers including Rob Parsons.  For more information and to book tickets, visit the tour website.

26.08.2011 Join us for our service on 11th September when you will be welcome to stay for lunch.  In the afternoon we'll be finding out what people have been up to over the summer and what's planned for this autumn.

26.08.2011 GriefShare will run from Tuesday 13th September until Tuesday 29th November in Pim House, Wallace Avenue, starting each evening at 7.30. GriefShare is a special support group for people grieving the loss of someone close.  It is sponsored by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.  You are welcome to begin attending the GriefShare group at any session.  Each is "self-contained," so you do not have to attend in sequence.  You will find encouragement and help whenever you begin. 24.08.2011  Thanks to all those who helped with the Holiday Bible Club, which was well attended, and where everybody enjoyed the Space Adventure.  The weather even held out for the barbcue on the last evening, when many of the parents came along.  If you or your children came along to the HBC, look out for details of the Buzz Club and our other activities this autumn.

                                                        

07.07.2011 The summer's here and many of our members are away on camps, mission teams and summer holidays.  We will be continuing to meet every Sunday in July and August.  Our services are informal and are aimed at all age groups, so please feel free to join us.

 

16.06.2011 The Faraday Institute is coming to Belfast and is running a course for those interested in Science and Chrisianity.  More


16.06.2011 A big thank you to the organisers of Walk for Life and to all the women who came along over the last five weeks.  This year's series of walks finished on 15th June, and the women even permitted themselves to indulge in a supper which was perhaps a little less healthy than it had been in previous weeks.

20.05.2011The ladies had another great night last Wednesday, with nearly 40 women attending. They enjoyed a relaxing walk followed by a healthy supper of fruit salads and crackers with cheese and a talk by Garling about health issues and her testimony.

15.05.2011The theme for the Association of Baptist Churches' Assembly meetings this year is "Standing Together".  Helen Roseveare is the speaker at the Baptist Women's event tomorrow evening at 7:30pm. Anyone from Lambeg wishing to attend should meet in front of Lisburn Baptist at 7:10pm.  The Rally takes place on Tuesday, followed by the College Graduation on Wednesday.

15.05.2011  Walk for Life got off to a successful start on Wednesday evening, with around 40 women taking part in two walks, one along the towpath and the other taking in the Belsize and Magheralave Roads.  Everyone enjoyed a healthy supper of fruit salad and an inspirational talk by Suzanne Halliday and Heather Bennett, who were sharing their expeiriences of setting up a village industry amongst women in Uganda.  More walks are planned for this Wednesday, when Dr Gar Ling Coulter will speak about health-related issues.

08.05.2011  Please support the Sunday School girls as they sell their craft work to raise funds for our young people's summer work.

07.05.2011  Walk for Life is an event which is open to women of all ages. It's free of charge and will take place every Wednesday, beginning on 11th May 2011. There are different categories of walk and all of them start from the Old Meeting House on Railway Street in Lisburn at 7.30pm.  You will have the opportunity to meet new people, get some exercise, enjoy a healthy supper and find out more about how God can work in our lives. We would be delighted to see you, so please feel free to come along and bring a friend.

 

07.05.2011The Irish Baptist Historical Society is running an event on the life of William Carey, 'father of modern missions', at Lisburn Baptist on Tuesday 17th May at 7.30pm

06.05.2011  John Lennox will be speaking at Glenabbey tomorrow evening at 8pm on the subject of 'Where was God in Japan?'

02.05.2011  A group from church enjoyed the sunshine during their picnic at Lurgan Park on Monday 2nd May.  Meanwhile, some of the young people from Pulse were in Scotland and enjoyed their trip to M&D's theme park. 

   

30.04.2011  Congratulations to Katherine Bell and Adam Patton on their engagement.  We wish them both every happiness in the future.

23.04.2011  GriefShare has now come to an end, but is due to start up again in the Autumn.  A big thank you to all those who have helped out. More information about the next series will appear on the website in due course.
